Time with Adra and Bri - Part 7
By Brianne A. Alcinoos
July 3, 2007
Brianne herself was already starting to get ready, though not in a quick fashion at all. First came a long shower, shampooing her hair twice and ensuring that her body was perfectly clean in each crevice and over all smooth surfaces. After getting all dried and a towel wrapped about her hair, she checked the eyebrows to ensure they were plucked and perfectly formed over her bright blues. Next came the hair, which she had decided to do on her own. Drying her blond locks much as she could with the towel, she brushed them out and then just walked about for a while to let them dry further. Satisfied enough, she pulled some of the bouncy curls that fell to the sides of her face up to the top of her head and carefully tied them up with a wide pink ribbon. The rest of her hair she pulled back with small pink bobby pins and secured to just tail lightly along the back of her neck.
Next came the dress. Standing before where it hung, her hands grabbed near the bottom corners and just smiled at the lovely color and design that Terisa had come up with. It was pink, not bright hot pink either, but not as dull as a pastel pink either. It was almost that princess pink color, and little frills to boot. The bottom skirt part was all just light pink frills that floated down one's legs and flitted above the ground. The top has small sequins that shimmered in the light and a low v-cut neckline with two straps that ran up over the shoulders to hold up the dress. The zipper up the back was nearly invisible to onlookers.
Sliding into it was nearly an art form in and of itself, but Bri was practiced all too much at this art and the dress slid on smoothly and she wiggled and got the zipper all the way up her back. Standing before her full-length mirror, hands gently ran down the front of the skirt, dazed for a moment before hearing a bell being rung at the front of the Inn. She had taken a bit too much time it would seem, but the carriage could wait a few moments. Selecting a silver necklace with a simple clear crystal as the stone that fell like a small icicle down the front of her chest, and two wide silver bracelets, one for each hand, along with three very thin bracelets for her right hand, she slid them all on as feet were slipped into shoes, bending over to secure the straps about her ankles, putting in her matching earrings as she was walking down the hall towards the front door.
Stepping out into the light, she smiles softly at Rodriguez, the carriage driver. He waved to her and moved to open the carriage door, offering a hand to her, which she used to carefully get into it. Without a word, the door was closed and they were off towards Adra's cabin. Bumping along over the countryside and then through the trees, Rodriguez was an expert driver and avoided what could potentially tip over the carriage. Soon arriving at the cabin, he stepped down once more, open the door and again allowed Brianne to step down before her rang his bell to announce their presence. Brianne's hands clasped before her as she waited for Adra to appear.
